Colours

Colours, originally uploaded by Bountee.

We're still doing stuff don't you know. And my word what a week.

All of our blanks and various products are now in and close to being ready for production. The site itself is a couple of weeks away from a real beta launch and if you could only see some of the things lined up on various post-it notes, bits of paper and omnigraffle, photoshop files here it'd make your mind spin.

Thanks for keeping the faith. Not long now.

Remix

We've been wanting to do something like this for a while...
And with the release of MySoti, we'll finally be able to offer a little 'shirt design' love to everyone.

A MySoti'Mix shirt - is basically a shirt that has other 'stuff' associated with it - so if a designer has uploaded some additional graphics with their shirt design, you as a regular shirt-loving shopper will be able to take those extra design bits and add them to your shirt; to truly create a bespoke design that's 100% particular and personal to you.

It's the ultimate in unique, bespoke designer ware - and what's more it's all done with the approval and blessing of the original artist; so you'll know that what you get in the post will have all of the great design of the original.

What do you think? We'd love to hear your thoughts...

P.S. Apologies to lunchboxbrian :) We just love using your image for our tests!

Beautifully Drawn - Bibyu.com

Bibyu.com
So today the juicy news begins...

If Bountee was a great way to create t-shirts and then make some money from each shirt sold, then Bibyu is the same but for artwork.

We'll soon be opening up the doors to allow designers from all over the Internet/world the ability to upload and create fine-art poster prints AND blocked, framed and mounted artwork - and of course make it available to buy. Using the same system as Bountee it means that the only investment from a designer up front is talent, and perhaps a little design time. Other than that, if you want to upload 20 designs a day then you can - and it still won't cost you a penny! (Unless you buy one of your own designs of course!)

Our poster prints are individually printed on a wonderfully soft textured, 315gsm 'fine art' quality paper and judging by some of the incredible designs that we've already seen for shirts these are going to look just awesome in rooms across the world. And, of course, if you're looking for something a little more 'luxurious' for that empty space on your wall then there's always the canvas prints too.

We've spent a long time working on getting just the right quality print and block framing for our canvasses and have taken great care in continuing the high standards that we set with our shirt printing; we think that you'll be amazed at the quality of the finished product and we really can't wait to be up on your living room walls...

If you haven't already you may want to sign up for the beta here

Tomorrow we talk a little bit about Remix'ing!

The skinny on MySoti

Since we first announced MySoti people have been emailing asking just what exactly it is and how it differs from Bountee.

Well, as we hit our final few weeks of development for this phase, we thought that it would be a good time to open up a little and explain just what it's all about.

MySoti - Make Your Stuff On The Internet - is a complete redevelopment of Bountee; and with it we are adding some amazing new features and some great new products. Some of which we are still finalising the details for so we won't show our entire hand today. Besides what will we have to talk about next week eh?

Bountee has been a great success in simplicity, with lots of people praising us on the ease of use and ability to create shirts in a matter of seconds. We also heard a lot of feedback from people saying that we were perhaps a little 'light' on features too; especially when it comes to reporting and recording shirt sales etc. Add to that a world of mails and comments asking us to produce work in other products; ranging from onesies to tea-towels and you'll see that we've had a lot to think about.

Well, we've listened hard - and using your feedback as well as our own experience of the site we think we've addressed all of these comments and then some!

Bountee will still have a home within the MySoti group of sites, but she'll be joined by her sisters Bibyu.com and Byoodoo.com; all three of which will join up to become the mighty MySoti - a bit like the dudes from Battle Of The Planets; or Power Rangers if you're younger than the old fart writing this!

Byoodoo we can't talk about right now - but tomorrow, we'll chat about Bibyu.

It's getting busy, busy, busy here at Bountee [ahem] I mean MySoti HQ at the moment. And we really don't have a lot of time today to blog.

But did someone say American Apparel?

:D

Custom

One of the things that always annoyed us internally here at Bountee HQ was the fact that although we're supposed to be this wonderful place for customisation of t-shirts, we never allowed a citizen of Bountee Town the ability to do anything to their profile within the site.

It wasn't because we couldn't, or didn't want to - but it's amazing what happens once you find yourself with the time and practicle ability to actually get these grievances down and onto paper/pixels.

We hope you'll get a kick out of the latest screenshot. We're really, rather proud of it :)

And after last weeks' screenshot a few people mailed me to ask just what on earth Bibyu and Byoodoo were.

Well, URLs are hard to come by - and we're not even sure that they'll make the final build but you could do worse than taking a look around here.

And yes we know that the phonetics aren't exactly correct :)

Back (and) to The Future!

Well, that took a darn sight longer than we expected. We can't apologise enough for the downtime and to those of you who have sent such kind words or understanding and encouragement thanks!

We honestly didn't want to take things down at all, but believe me when I say that it is definitely for the best (more of that later).

We wanted to say sorry in a better way than just words; sure words are great and everything but they're nothing compared to good old fashioned money eh? So, with that in mind we've arrange for two special voucher codes to be added to the site.

MONEY-OFF

1) 20% off for EVERYONE - This if valid until the 20th and all you need to do is type 80UNTEE into the Gift Code box when you checkout.

You should find a nicely designed version of this voucher in your mail that you can send around to all of those people who perhaps would have bought your shirts should we had provided them with a site to let them do so :)

Please feel free to pass it around.

2) The BIG ONE. Because we are, genuinely sorry. So, for the next 50 hours we're offering 50% off of ALL of the shirts!

Again, just type BOUN733 into the Gift Code box when you (or your friends) check out and you'll have a whopping HALF-PRICE discount added to your order.

We know it's not going to completely make up for the downtime over this past week, but it's our little way of saying thanks for sticking with us. We're going to repay you by the bucket load very soon.

Which brings us nicely to the future; and the greater plans for Bountee.com.

It's my pleasure to announce today the official beta sign-up for our new site MySoti.com.

So what is MySoti?
Well, it's a massive extension to our current site, so it may help to think of it as an adoptive parent to the beautiful child that is Bountee. We're intending it to be a place where you can Make Your Stuff On The Internet. (URLs are hard to come by these days, ok? But we kind of like it :-p)

Over the coming weeks and months the work on MySoti will help mould and shape Bountee into the site that you all deserve; as well as adding new, exciting functionality AND products that we think - scratch that - we KNOW that you are going to love.

We'll be posting regularly here from now on, and we now have a crack team of three of us working full-time on the sites so that we can react and respond as quickly as possible to your comments and suggestions for improvements.

So what will MySoti add to the Bountee experience?
It's all a little hush, hush at the moment, but one of the biggest changes that you'll notice is a complete site rebuild and re-design. It'll be quicker, more responsive and even more usable; but still maintaining the simplicity that we always aim for.

Oh and it'll be prettier - much, much prettier.

We'll leave it here for now, but we'd love to know your thoughts, speculation etc. So please, comment below and let's make the future of making stuff online the best and easiest it can be; together.
